One day while driving through a small town in Maine, I stumbled across this sign for Hussey’s General Store. The marquee advertises four things; guns, bibles, wedding gowns and cold beer. At first I had assumed that the advertisement was intended to be some sort of joke however; upon further investigation I learned that the store actually does sell and stock all of these items. The store’s slogan is, “If we don’t got it, you don’t need it”. I love this picture because it is blunt, practical and slightly humorous, all of which are characteristics of Mainer’s and the Maine lifestyle.
