Weekly Entry #2This photograph accompanies an article in the New York Times which is entitled, “As China Roars, Pollution Reaches Deadly Extremes”. In recent months I have been becoming more and more aware about the pollution crisis which is occurring in China. A quote within the article which I find to be particularly interesting is, “China’s problem has become the world’s problem. Sulfur dioxide and nitrogen oxides spewed by China’s coal-fired power plants fall as acid rain on Seoul, South Korea, and Tokyo. Much of the particulate pollution over Los Angeles originates in China, according to the Journal of Geophysical Research.” The quote emphasizes the fact that pollution issues are a global concern and span far beyond anyone country in particular.
